SiteMinder by Patch Labs

Privacy Policy

Effective September 25, 2026

SiteMinder is a Chrome extension that tracks active time on websites selected by the user and provides reminders when user-defined limits are reached. This policy explains what information SiteMinder handles, why it is needed, and the controls available to users.

Information handled by SiteMinder

SiteMinder handles the domains that a user explicitly adds, the domain of the current active tab for matching, per-site usage totals, reminder settings, quiet-hour rules, enabled states, and locally stored usage history.

SiteMinder does not collect or store complete browsing history, full page URLs, webpage content, search queries, form entries, passwords, cookies, or personal communications.

How information is used

This information is used only to determine whether the active website matches a tracked domain, measure active time, display totals and reminders, apply user settings, and create exports requested by the user.

Local storage and retention

Tracked websites, settings, daily totals, and up to 30 days of PRO usage history are stored locally in Chrome extension storage on the user's device. Temporary timer state is stored in Chrome session storage. Patch Labs does not operate a server that receives browsing activity.

CSV history and configuration files are created only when the user selects an export command and are saved through the browser's normal download process.

PRO activation and payment

If a user voluntarily activates PRO, SiteMinder may send the entered license key and a generated installation identifier to the configured licensing provider over HTTPS. License requests do not contain tracked domains, usage totals, page content, or browsing history.

Payment and order information is collected and processed by the merchant-of-record or checkout provider under its own terms and privacy policy. SiteMinder does not receive or store complete payment-card information.

Sharing, advertising, and analytics

Patch Labs does not sell, rent, or share browsing activity with advertisers or data brokers. SiteMinder does not use browsing activity for personalized advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated analytics.

Chrome permissions

  • Storage saves settings, tracked websites, usage totals, history, and license state locally.
  • Tabs lets SiteMinder match the active tab's domain to the user's tracked-site list.
  • Alarms supports periodic timer updates while the popup is closed.
  • Notifications displays time-limit reminders.
  • Idle prevents time from being counted while the device is idle.
  • Scripting and website access displays SiteMinder's packaged in-page reminder when required.

SiteMinder does not download or execute remotely hosted code.

Your choices

Users can add, disable, or remove tracked websites; turn SiteMinder off; reset today's usage; export local history or settings; and uninstall the extension to delete its Chrome extension storage.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

SiteMinder's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve SiteMinder's disclosed, user-facing functionality. It is not transferred for advertising, sold to third parties, or made available for unrelated human review.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if SiteMinder's features, permissions, or providers change. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date and disclosed consistently in the product and store listing where required.
